It's Monday in Holy Week, and the first time we've had heavy rain for weeks. We've had two brilliant WOOFERS, Xavi from Catalonia and Johanna from Bavaria, helping with a massive Spring campaign round the place, clearing drains, repairing paths, hedging, fencing, getting the garden going, building a duck house. We've been encouraged in the poultry line, no attack so far on the hens, and them raining eggs on us. Foxes and mink seem to have gone missing round here, thank God. Maybe the brave Tessa is a help too; I hope she will be as gentle with ducks as she is in the photo with Xavi's hand!
We've already had a few gorgeous sails; keeping Anna M here for the winter has been a remarkable success; looks like some of my excuses to sailing south are getting thin, especially considering the storms there, but perhaps I was just lucky to choose the right winter! It's quite surprising though how lovely these off-season sails can be. With Mike and Sheila O'Brien last Saturday it was even warm, but even back in the frosty clear weather, the hardy ladies with Dominic Peer really enjoyed themselves.
However summer supplies are needed, and besides there is that Santiago pilgrimage idea still about. I'm looking for guys who would fancy a quick sail to Galicia, or at least Brittany. And who is going to be our first guest to come on the restored Swansea-Cork ferry? It's great value; check out:-
