I took the Anna M to Arzal on the Villaine River in March, for
a fairly heavy duty Spring fit-out session in April. This involved
among other things taking the rudder out of her, since its shaft
wa s quite badly eaten away with electolysis, and having it rebuilt
with a new shaft.
Jean-Baptiste and Patrique at L'Otarie
did a fine job, while Marie-Laure gave the sails a quick going-over
in the sail-loft.
It's a handy out-fit, as is the whole set-up at Arzal - safe and
reasonable marina berths, a mighty lift and a huge hard stand with
plenty of canny steel cradles for keeping any boat upright. Then of
course the whole scale of the marine industry in the south of Brittany
is very impressive, especially when one comes from the west of Ireland!
